WP1: Design and synthesis of cations and HPs
Tailored XB-donors cations are the cornerstones of project’s objectives and will be synthesized, characterized and applied for the construction of HPs within WP1. Crystallization experiments will allow to obtain single-crystals for structure determination in WP3.
WP2: Computational modelling
Computational studies in correlation with experimental results will be used for providing correct information on cation steric and electronic features and their effect on HPs structure and properties.
WP3: Structural characterization via X-Ray diffraction and ssNMR
This WP will be devoted to the structural characterization of materials obtained in WP1 using two main techniques: i) X-Ray
diffraction and ii) ssNMR spectroscopy.
WP4: Photophysical investigation
Trapping processes of charges and excitons will be investigated and cooperative phenomena occurring in highly ordered structures will be highlighted. Optical properties of newly synthesized LDHPs will be studied with a wide set of complementary spectroscopic techniques allowing to highlight and interpret the effects of XB on the structure of the developed materials.
